In an uncharacteristic twist for 2020, we’ve got some good news for you: LockHouse is reopening! Starting Saturday, July 11th, you can once again escape from the boredom of everyday life in our three exciting rooms. Here’s everything you need to know. (Well, except for the codes to the rooms. You’ve still got to work those out for yourself. We can’t do everything for you.) Read on to find out when you can play, our plans and precautions, and what’s new!

Yay! When are you open?

LockHouse is currently taking bookings for Saturday, July 11th. That’s this coming Saturday, for those of us whose sense of time has been completely eroded by lockdown.

We’ll be opening up more dates in the future — keep an eye on our social media for announcements of new availability. Our website will always show the most up-to-date availability for each room.

How can I book?

You can see all our bookable time slots, and book your game, on our website!

We’re encouraging customers to pay in full online when you make your booking, in order to cut down on in-person transactions. If you choose to pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest on the day, please note that LockHouse is currently only taking card/contactless payments in store — we are not taking cash payments.

Who can I play with?

Groups made up of people from a single household or a single social bubble can come and play! (We’re assuming you’ve been honing your puzzle-solving teamwork during the time you’ve spent trapped in the same house.) It’s not possible to maintain social distance inside our rooms, so only groups from a single household or social bubble can play.

What safety measures are in place?

LockHouse has been working hard to make sure our reopening complies with government and NHS guidance, in order to make it as safe as possible both for customers and staff.

The rooms themselves, as well as all communal spaces in the building, are intensively cleaned and aired out between games. We’re also making some changes to our game times in order to avoid any overlap between groups, so only one household will be in the foyer at any one time. To help us keep everyone safe, we’re asking customers to confirm you don’t have any symptoms, use hand sanitizer on entry, wash your hands before and after your game, and maintain 2m social distance from staff. For full details, please see our coronavirus FAQ.

Do I have to wear a mask?

LockHouse staff will be wearing masks or other facial coverings as a precaution. Customers aren’t required to wear a mask in order to play, but we strongly recommend that you do wear one — it’ll help us to keep the rooms clean efficiently and keep everyone safe. If you don’t have a mask, we’ve got you covered (literally): LockHouse will have some for sale in our foyer.

We’d like to thank our customers for sticking with us through all this chaos, and for helping us to maintain safety measures while we reopen. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
