How many of us can play?
Egyptian Tomb and Secret Agent: 2–6 players. Armageddon: 2–7 players. Mayan Temple and Time Machine: 4-8 players
Can we pay via invoice?
If you need any receipts, invoices etc. for finance department purposes, our customer service team are happy to help. Please contact them directly at admin@lockhouse.co.uk.
How long does it take?
Teams have a maximum of one hour in the room. We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes before your start time. If you are doing multiple rooms back to back, there is a short period of downtime between rooms for reset. This can take a maximum of 30 minutes, but we can normally make it shorter.
Do you offer catering? Where can we eat?
We do not offer catering on site. Lockhouse is centrally located on Regent Street, surrounded by many excellent food/drink establishments, so finding somewhere to finish your evening shouldn’t be difficult!
Is it competitive? Can you make it competitive?
Whilst we do not have identical escape rooms for a strict competition, we will be recording how long each group takes in the room, and you can compare these times afterwards. We can also record how many hints each group gets.
What if we don't know our exact numbers yet?
At Lockhouse you only pay for the number of players actually in the room on the day. So if your numbers are still flexible, but you know the date/time you wish to attend, we would recommend booking the room with 2-3 players and then you can always change this number at a later date.
How can we reschedule or cancel a booking?
To rearrange your booking, contact us by phone or email as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate your new preferred time slot.
What's your policy on short notice rescheduling/cancellations?
If you need to rearrange your game with less than 48 hours’ notice, the deposit will be forfeited. Any additional money paid towards the game beyond the deposit will be carried over to the new time slot. If your new booking moves from an off-peak time to a peak time, you will need to pay the difference in cost for the peak time slot.
Can we reschedule a booking?
You can reschedule your game without any additional charges if you provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice.

How should I book for a large event?

Do kids play at a discounted rate?
Kids under 5 play free; otherwise, standard rates apply.
Can a group of children play together? Would an adult need to accompany them?
Children 12+ can play alone; those under 12 require an adult chaperone (one slot free for one adult per group).
Can young children play an escape room?
Some puzzles may be too challenging for children under 7 to solve without significant help from a grown up but they're welcome to join in.
Will we be locked in for real?
The door to the room is never really locked, you can exit anytime, even if you just want a breather. Speak to your game master for reassurance.
How difficult are your rooms? Can we get hints?
Rooms vary in difficulty, and we offer unlimited hints without penalties.
Will we be with strangers?
No, you’ll only be with your own group.
Are your escape rooms scary?
Our rooms have no jump scares. The Egyptian Tomb has a few ‘spooky’ props, but nothing frightening. – The scariest thing in the room is you!
Are discounts available?
NHS workers receive 10% off with a valid bluelight card, and students get 10% off on Mondays and Tuesdays with a valid student card.
How long does an escape room take to play?
Each of our games lasts up to 1 hour.
Do you accept cash?
No, we are cashless—please use a card.
I don’t know exactly how many players we’ll have. What should I do?
Not a problem! At Lockhouse you only pay for the number of players who actually turn up on the day. If you’re not sure how many people will be coming, we recommend booking the rooms you want for two players and securing your booking with a deposit – we’ll adjust the final price on the day depending on how many people you bring.
How much does an escape room cost?
Rates are £25/person off-peak, £27/person peak, or £30/person for our premium rooms. Two-player bookings cost slightly more per person. A £20 deposit is required per booking.
What should I do if I'm unsure about the number of people who will be playing?
No problem! Book with a deposit and pay for the actual number on the day.
Where can we park?
Closest parking is at Queen Anne Terrace (5 mins walk) and Grand Arcade (8 mins walk).
Is the player limit flexible?
No, the player limits are strict for both minimum and maximum capacities.
What public transport is available?
We are 14 mins on foot or 6 mins by taxi from Cambridge train station, with nearby bus stops on Emmanuel and Regent Streets.
Is the booking availability on the website accurate?
Yes, our website shows live availability for each room.
